ODE TO CHARLOTTE 2003
Steel, 19' x 7.5' x 6' "See the Other Side", a year long exibit in the lakeside glass tower at the new ECHO Science Center in Burlington, Vermont. The sculpture�s name, CHARLOTTE, is reference to a time when Lake Champlain was an inland sea and beluga whales inhabited the waters. In 1908 a whale skeleton was discovered in the small town of Charlotte south of Burlington. The skeleton, Delphinapterus Vermontanus, is displayed at the State House in Montpelier.
